Luam Choreography

I absolutely love and respect her work.
I get goosebumps whenever I watch her choreography.
This video is just a PIECE of what Luam is all about.

Skinnys are OUT

I blogged about the cyclical trends of fashion yesterday.
Lo and behold, a new one has arisen: cropped pants. I swore by skinny denim for quite some time because it worked well with my short stature. Now that cropped is in, all of the shorties out there have to figure out how to incorporate this trend.

Cropped pants can work really well or go horribly wrong so here are some looks to stick with.

Kim Kardashian is a bit on the shorter side (similarly to most women) and opts for a very casual look consisting of a fitted blazer, a long blouse and sandals. Victoria Beckham, slightly taller than Kim, opts for a nice pair of heels which takes dresses up her casual look. Ideally, these cropped pants are the types of fit to work with. I love how chic and laid back all of these women appear to be.

A look into the Future

Gareth Pugh's older collection.
I still love the shapes.

Kim K Flub

Apparently Kim is rockin' cornrows for an appearance in a Kanye West video.
Thoughts?

Kornrows. There, we typed it.

1940's War on Fashion

"Due to World War II, clothing was rationed and the Government dictated what clothes should look like and 'utility' clothes were introduced using the minimum amount of material possible.  Although times were hard women were still able to look chic and stylish.  Fashion items that became popular during this time were the wedge sole shoe, the siren suit and the kangaroo cloak."

Wide Leg Denim

I'm SO glad that I did not throw away my wide legged denim.

Our with the old, in with the new

Since August, I have been thinking about having a yard sale to get rid of tons of clothes that I just knew I would never wear again. There weather got colder and my yard sale never happened. Now I have a large suitcase and bags of clothes that will never see the light of day again. Or so I thought. I pondered about it and decided to keep a few things.

As 2010 comes to an end, we must brace ourselves for new goals, resolutions, changes and the unknown. But what we do know is FASHION.

Out with the Autumn/Winter 2010 trends
&
In with the new Spring/Summer 2011 trends.

But wait - before you completely revamp and update your wardrobe by chucking items that no longer appeal to the season, remember that those trends WILL be back and you don't want to be one of those women saying,
"I wish I would have kept that ___."

So keep it.

Remember that trends work in cycles. They are meant to keep you engaged for six months and once you've finally mastered and incorporated everything that you possibly could, the trend changes like *snaps finger* that. Now, you're back to purchasing more items to be current with the trend (and weather). This cycle occurs for two reasons: one is women's desire to be current, trendy and beautiful and the other is businesses' desire to increase revenue. The fashion industry manipulates women (who consider themselves fashionable) into keeping their wardrobes relevant by implementing new trends. By making women feel as though their wardrobes are "uncool", many conform and shop away and businesses make loads of money. And so every six months, this happens: new trends are created, women feel that their wardrobes are outdated, they shop and businesses make more money. So before you throw those wide leg jeans away, keep 'em and pull 'em out when the trend reoccurs.

It would be as if you were one step ahead of the game!

Gisele in Dolce & Gabanna

"A svelte Italian woman striding down the cobbled streets in the latest ultra-high wedges without missing a step, hair flying in the breeze, epitomizes an attitude almost all Italians have: of dressing with care and confidence, but seeming artless. And this attitude can only be achieved through a tradition of seduction and refinement handed down through generations. Italians love to show off, but mostly in an individualistic, understated way: while their clothes fit, they still allow room for sensual movement."

Oh, how I love Italy.

Kardashian/Jenner Holiday Photo

The Kardashians and Jenners look amazing, down to little Mason!
I absolutely love Kim K and this dress is a perfect example of combining glamour and sensuality tastefully.
I keep forgetting that Kylie and Kendall are growing into women but in my opinion, this may be a bit much for them; they look way mature. The color scheme is on and the photographer had a great eye in capturing this image.

In all, I love.
