There is a fire starting in my heart, Reaching a fever pitch and it's bringing me out the dark

Italian Vogue Black Issue

I couldn't snag these pictures from that actual Italian Vogue website to save my life but I found some elsewhere. This is Italian Vogue's Black Issue.
There have only been a couple of Black issues printed, thus they are in incredibly high demand selling at outrageous prices on Ebay.

And I don't blame those trying to get their hands on a copy.

This issue is everything Hollywood glam, Mother Africa, Harlem Renaissance inspired.

Anne Hathaway's Oscar Looks

It is pretty safe to say that she was flawless the ENTIRE night.
And of course Rachel Zoe styled her for the event.

Oscars 2011

I could NOT wait to get home and blog about this event!!
These are the women (so far) whose dresses I loved.

My current #1: Mila Kunis in a beautiful, violet piece!

Hilary Swank, I love the texture and transition of color.

This is a perfect silhouette for Celine Dion. Simple and beautiful.

Anne Hathaway in a gorgeous red dress and Valentino, enough said.

Busy Phillips in an 80s inspired dress. It's so much happening but, hey what can I say, I love mermaid fit dresses.

Maria Menounos in a black, suede, one shoulder piece. The contrast between the deep black and her skin is striking. Oh, and her bracelet is gorgeous.

Sandra Bullock in a beautiful red dress. Simple hair, simple makeup, and she looks great!

Malika Sherawat in a rather risky piece for the Oscars - showing a lot of leg - but still beautiful.

Halle Berry in a nude piece that could really do without all of that nylon attached to the hem. From the thigh up, she looks amazing - safe, but amazing.

Coolest House EVER

I stumbled across this on Yahoo! and thought that this was the coolest thing EVER!
I'm not sure what the room(s), kitchen and bathroom(s) look like but the slide seems really fun!

Why walk when you can slide?

This house in the Nakameguro district of Tokyo, ...

The children can take the three flights of stairs ...

The design places the living quarters at the ...

The living space.

Spring Trend: Turban

We've seen Erykah Badu with these elaborately tied head wraps.
June Ambrose's sig look has been the turban and huge glasses.
Then I saw Solange with a turban.
Now it's on the Spring 2011 runway.

I introduce the turban.

This turban print and ad is gorgeous. It's so full of texture and possesses this whole Mother Earth vibe.

Caviar Nails for lunch please!

am
addicted
to
nail
polish.

I have a growing collection of nail polish.
Whenever I go to Target, I make a pit stop in the beauty department.
My boyfriend thinks I have a problem - and I just may.
Since I'm actually overdue for a personal mani, I may adopt this trend seen at Cushnie et Ochs Fall 2011
Fashion Week. It requires glass beads, activator spray and some other stuff. Luckily, I have TONS of little sea beads just hanging around and will put them to good use.

5 Minute Outfit

Ok.
So I had the day off from classes and decided to braid my hair knowing that I also had a play to attend at 7pm. I started my hair around 2pm resulting in about half of my hair getting done. So I put this look together in seriously 5 minutes before leaving for my friend's play.

Now, I'm not a huge fan of it but I'll call this 'Lazy Chic'

Willow Smith and Teen Vogue

Little Willow Smith may not be a teen just yet but she will be featured on the cover of Teen Vogue.
I think....
THAT IT IS ABOUT TIME!
Willow is the epitome of Teen Vogue - young, fresh, vibrant, and confident.

She's too cute.

53rd Annual Grammy Awards Red Carpet: Part Deux

These women were all about texture, patterns and RISKS.

Keri Hilson's piece is fun. Beautiful color and detail.

I love that Amber Riley's stylists dress her in really flattering and beautiful pieces instead of dressing her matronly and sometimes horribly (as is done with a lot of curvier women).

Lea Michele opted for a more mature look (left) than seen at this year's Golden Globe awards (right).

Gorgeous, gorgeous silhouettes.
