Elie Saab Fall 2013 RTW

After seeing Taylor Swift in that gorgeous Elie Saab number that I blogged about here, I had to check out what Elie was up to.

My takeaway: this collection is all about woman and her curvacious nature with an element of surprise! I know that I'd look FAAAB-U-LOUUS in a lot of these pieces. A girl can dream, right?

Check out the collection here

Rihanna for River Island

I sort of fell in love with River Island during my semester abroad in London and Rihanna has partnered with them to form her Rihanna for River Island collection. Here are some of my fave pieces/looks:

Get the look: Rihanna Letterman Jacket

Rihanna seen sporting this gray letterman jacket (and I loooove love love those shades)

You can get a similar look from her Rihanna for River Island collection for $300.00. It's pretty expensive for my taste buds especially because it's lacking a lot of the details that I'd like to see but you could easily invest in iron on patches from your local arts and crafts store to make it your own.

Ima let you finish but uhh...

Ever since Kanye snatched the mic from Taylor and professed,
"Beyonce had one of the best videos of all tiiiiime!!!!"
I just lost respect for her. I don't care how sweet, nice, innocent or whatever you are, NO ONE would take my mic or shine without a fight. Not to mention that after that little fiasco, it seemed like everyone had her back, sent her tons of 'Get Well Soon' cards from this massive Kanye burn, and made all of these excuses for her. I say:

NO. Grow a pair Taylor.

Flash forward to now and Taylor has donned a more mature and age appropriate look and even grew one -- not the total pair. Apparently she said that Tina Fey and Amy Poehler should go to h-e-double hockey sticks or something to that effect. Nice Taylor. Nice. So after seeing Taylor Swift in this super mature Elie Saab dress, I couldn't help but be impressed. The hair isn't a polished or 'innocently swept' but it has so much texture and sass. She even took it up a notch with the sheer, side splits. She kept it very clean and simple with minimal jewelry, accessories and that smoldering face! She really let this look speak volumes.

Different Taylor attitude, spicy Taylor look. I approve.

Oh, Kim Kay.

Ok. So in my mind, Kim K and I are all like BFFs. I'm like in the background when her and Kourt are in Miami, I'm left sitting in the car when the big guys are escorting her pass the paps. I'm always there, just never seen. When America loves to hate her and Yahoo! has a trending story almost everyday about the Kardash Klan and the user comments are outrageous (please PLEASE read them next time because they are hilarious and oftentimes better than articles) I still love them and I don't know why. I think it all boils down to her clean, modernistic style. Monica Rose does a wonderful job styling Kim -- pre-pregnancy. Now that she's with Kanye's seedling, ugh, my gawsh, she looks horrendous. I thought she'd be super fab and glowing but she's really like drab and just...FAT.

Like what the what is up with these frocks? Both are not flattering to her shape at all!

Now, now, all of her looks aren't a total loss. I did like this little number although she still looks, well - not her best. I would've loved to see that hair snatched back because her makeup is FLAW-LESS.... then I look at the side shot and again, the shape is still off for her preggers body.

Kim, my bff, please do better in your future looks because these are NOT working!

Well said Kanye, well said. (and I don't even like King/Queen Bey).

Ok. So I need to vent.

My gosh, I am SO over Rihanna (and Chris) since they are pretty much one and the same these days. Popular memes all over the place about how we can't stand to watch them but we can't look away. What the what?! I can't stand to watch them AND I look away every chance I get.

BUT one can not deny how amazing she always looks. Her face is always beat, that lip (below) is everything, it just screams DRAMA!! And her hair is laaaaaaaaid dahling, laid like me on a beach on a nice summer day. Whew! That's some really good weave. I love it. I love the open back, accessories, hair, makeup, everything. Her stylist is just the business!

Seen here at her collection launching which just so happened to be for one of my favorite stores in one of my favorites cities: River Island in London, England

Fashion and Art become one.

1. I love that she's of Asian descent -- there aren't many ethnic models as we know -- and her face is darling!
2. I love the drama, texture, and shape of the garment.

My gorgeous First Lady, Michelle Obama wearing a coat (and dress) by Thom Browne and shoes by J. Crew. After turning 49 years old, Mrs. Obama looks uber fantab!! This entire look is to die for.
